Justing Thinking...
My neighbor and I were talking last night. We are both thinking about homeschooling our kids in the fall. She mentioned we might be able to get a couple more families in Bella Vista that homeschool and forming our own homeschool coop. I'm not sure of all the details but both of us are not impressed with Cooper. Our kids are sooo bored and its curriculm is really easy not challenging at all. So, we might end up homeschooling next year. I'm really excited about the idea.

Snowflake Count & Clip!
This is a great little seasonal counting activity at Making Learning Fun. I really liked it this activity is its hands on by counting the snowflakes and using the clothpins to clip the correct number. Logan loves using his hands. It's free to print out which everyone loves free printouts. Logan really had fun helping me cut and laminte the cards. He was able to do the first couple of cards (0-5)! I'm not sure if he can do the higher number cards. I'm thinking I will leave those cards for Landon.

Every Boys Favorite Thing To Do...
THROWING ROCKS
Last week, the weather was unusually warm. We ended up taking our neighbor and her three boys to the Bella Vista Walking Trail. Landon's best friend Aaron had a blast throwing rocks into the water. This was his frist time at the lake.Well, its not much of a lake anymore since they drained most of the water out of the lake.

Eating Less & Weighing Less
I just start to use this program called Calorie Count. One of my new years resoluations was to lose the extra baby fat from Leah. I'm really wanting to lose a total of 18 pounds. I'm hoping to do it before my next birthday which is the end of May. I'm totally stoked. I'm just running on my treadmill each morning for 30 minutes and counting my calories. Hopefully, the pounds will just melt off. Let's hope. So, if your looking for a program this one totally works, click here! Its free and its so easy to use.
Starting Weight: 148
Current Weight: 145.5
Goal Weight: 130

The Simple Woman's Daybook
This is my first time. I hope others will join in!
If you want to join in, just go visit Peggy over at The Simple Woman read the guidelines here and then add your name to Mr Linky.
FOR TODAY (Jan. 5, 2009)...
Outside My Window... its cold and cloudy:( It was 70 degrees outside only two days ago. I hate this weather. I wish it would just stay warm.
I am thinking...it will be soon time to make dinner!
I am thankful for...my health. My little guy has been feeling under the weather all day:(
From the learning rooms...we read the book called The Mitten by Jan Brett! We are going to be learning all about winter, animal tracks, and knitting!
From the kitchen...its clean and free of clutter. I just finished boiling the chicken for the dinner. I'm planning on making a new recipe called: Chicken Pockets.
I am wearing...pink knitted top with stretchy exec rise pants. I need to lose a few pounds.
I am creating...nothing at the moment. Taking a break from all the homemade Christmas presents.
I am going...nowhere! We are trying to see if we can go all week
without spending any money.
I am reading...Persuasion by Jane Austen!
I am hoping...my son wouldn't be an unbearable monster when he gets
off the school bus.
I am hearing...my son playing with his Lincoln logs.
Around the house...its finally clean both of the kids took naps so
it meant I got a lot done.
One of my favorite things...Diet Coke with Lime! Yummo!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: I'm taking it easy. I'm still
trying to recover from the holidays. I'm hoping to take the kids to the story time at the Rogers Library on Wed.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
Oh, I would love to be living in Hawaii again! Don't you just love this sunset.

1st Reading Challenge For The Year 2009
Check out Teaching Tiny Tots to join in the reading theme challenge! You can find lots of information and inspiration at her site.
This weeks theme: The Mitten by Jan Brett!
I just wanted to add: we love Jan Brett books. I never heard of this book. I checked out my tiny library and they didn't carry this book. I thought for a moment we would have to skip this book challenge. So, I drove the extra 20 minutes to another library in Rogers which has a much bigger selection in children books. Well, I scored big time. I was very pleased to find the book!
I decided to check out Jan Brett website! You can find this really cute mitten activity at her website, click here. I decided to take the activity a step further. I printed off the mittens and animals. I took the mittens and took a piece of white paper and made them into real mittens. The kids had fun cutting out all the animals and coloring them. I picked up each animal and repeated the name of each animal. Leah loved putting the animals into the mitten! I also talked a little bit about the size difference between the mittens. Ex. Which one is small/large...
I found this website a really cute animal track printable sheet, click here. We looked thru the book again and realized you can see animal tracks in the snow. We did the worksheet together and talked about how a animal track is left in the snow.
Leah didn't seem to interested in the book but she really enjoyed the mitten activity. Logan loved the book but wasn't to crazy about the activities. Oh, well! I can't please everyone.
