Thanksgiving Day Essay

P1010247

Written by Logan Scheele:

On Thacksgiving. First, my famly kame over for thacksgiving. Next when thay got ther we ate our fest. Then, we played a game that was called spoons and I won five times. In a rowe! Finally, we had desert and it was god (good).

Logan did an awesome job, drawing a picture of our dinner table on Thanksgiving day. He might grow up and be an artist!

Ten on Tuesday

1.  The holiday season is in full swing, I'm so glad to be done with Halloween and Thanksgiving. I feel like my life is a giant checklist and I'm trying to mark everything off my list as fast as possible. It's worth it but it's soooooo time consuming.

2. Thanksgiving ended up being a little bit crazy but it all work out at the end. Leroy's mom oven stop working two days before Thanksgiving. Crazy timing but we decided to move Thanksgiving back to our house. I prefer to have gatherings at Leroy's mom house because she has a nice big table that we can all fit around but we somehow managed to squeeze everyone around our small breakfast table in the kitchen. We were in charge of preparing all of the food, we haven't cook a turkey in a couple of years. So, when I couldn't find the giblets anywhere and was scratching my head in wonder. Well, it turns out, they were under the neck flap...gross and I ended up cooking them with the turkey. Yikes, it was pretty funny after all but we didn't have any giblets to go with the stuffing.

3. This year, my hubby suggested that we all go around the table and say two things that we are thankful for this year. Every one went around the table and said their thanks and we dug right into the meal. My friend Emily brought over a pumpkin pie and it was delicious. I need to get her pie crust recipe and give it a try. It's good to know that I have so many wonderful friends. Thanks, again...Emily!

4. This year, we have learned that nothing ever stays the same. Life is always changing. Thanksgiving wasn't the same without Leroy's Dad and Uncle. We will miss them and hopefully we can move forward but still remember them.

5. Well, Thanksgiving is out of the way....check....done! Now, I'm busy working on Leah's party plus Logan's class party. Leah wants a slumber party. I decided to be lazy and print up some photo invites from Walmart. She's holding a big number six and its' a princess theme card. It turned out really cute except when I went to the store to pick up the invites to only discover that they were out of envelopes. So, the girl called me back last night to tell me that they found the box of envelopes back in the storage room. So, I had to drive back to Walmart to pick up the envelopes. Super annoying, I should of ask for my money back.

6. I know a lot of people don't do sleep overs, so I'm not expecting to many girls to actually sleep over. I'm planning on most people dropping off their daughters in their jammies for the party and pick them back up before the sleep over starts which is fine with me. I know for a fact that four of the girls will be staying for the sleep over. Leah has already had sleep overs with two of the girls and I already spoken to the other girls mom about the sleep over. She's going to keep my boys at her house for a sleep over and I wouldn't have to worry about the boys trying to crash the party like they did last year.

7. Logan's class party is going to be "All Aboard The Polar Express", which will include book exchange. I'm currently working on the letter to parents. I hate to write but somehow I agreed to write up the letter again. I'm really bad about not seeing my mistakes. I can read it over a couple of times before I catch my mistakes. So, I'm working on the letter and it's almost done. I have to get in touch with Logan's long term sub because his teacher had her baby today! Oh, we're going to have the kids come in their jammies, drink hot chocolate, play bingo, make reindeer cookies, and book exchange at the end.

8. Christmas is coming soon as well. We will be traveling to Tennessee for Christmas but if that wasn't bad enough we also have to plan Logan's baptism that will be in Tennessee as well. We have most of the program planned but we still need to type it up. We also have to go to the stake building tonight to get our temple recommends done.

9. Leroy is having surgery in the morning, we have to leave like super early in the morning. I'm hoping the neighbor can keep the kids for a sleepover tonight and have her get the kids up and out the door to catch the bus. Don't worry, Leroy's surgery is very minor but he can't drive himself home so I will have to take him.

10.  I barely work out at all, last week. So far this week, I'm doing really good. I managed to run six miles on my treadmill. Today, I managed to workout to weights plus turbo fire for 15 minutes. I keep the baby's pack n play in the family room but I have it position right in front of the window. It's a good set up, she can sleep and I can keep an eye on her plus she can't hear me working out. Plus, it was really hard to be good during Thanksgiving. I'm using the timer to tell me when I'm allowed to eat meals and snacks. It's really helping...I have seem to have lost all self control. I'm feeling stronger plus I'm trying to reteach myself to eat when I'm hungry not out of boredom. It's hard when your home all day with the baby. It's so easy to mindless snack on food all day long.

Right Choices Corn Maze

The best thing about having a baby, is you get to do all the fun kid things all over again. Everything is a brand new experience for baby Leilani and it's so much fun doing it again with all the kids together. She really liked the corn maze and fit right in at the pumpkin patch. Leilani is sitting in the spot that Logan got his pumpkin.

Ten on Wed

1.  Leilani just turned four month olds. She's already eating baby oatmeal and baby food. Leroy had the joys of her diaper leaking poop. He managed somehow not to get it on himself but it found it's away up and down her body. Seriously, so gross...the joys of having a baby.

2. Leilani is hitting her milestones. Every single time she see me, her little face lights right up. I always feel bad, when I walk right pass her and she's smiling at me like crazy. She also recognizes my voice, as soon as she hears me talking, she will turn her head to look for me. Plus, she loves to play with her toys. She will lay on the ground and grab for her toys. She's either pulling on them or kicking them with her feet.

3. The kids are still super sweet with her. They all have to say good bye to her in the morning before they leave for school. After school, the kids are practically fighting each other over who gets to hold her first.

4.  Leroy is on his way to Colorado Springs for work, he will be back in about a week and half. We will miss him and I'm hoping the time will go by fast. The baby is still not sleeping well at night. It's going to be hard to get the kids off to school by myself but we will manage it.

5. The ticket system is still working great with the kids. The kids can complete chores or read for 30 minutes to earn tickets which they can turn in for screen time. Logan has surprisingly turned into a reader from this ticket system. Everyday, he loves to lay down on the floor and read his chapter books. He never seemed too interested  in reading before but now we can't keep the books away from him. On Saturday, Logan picked out four chapter books at a garage sale and has been reading them non-stop since then.

6. Landon is almost done with Tennis lessons. He is hoping to join the Tennis Team and start competing against other tennis teams in the area. Logan will be playing basketball starting in January. Hopefully, he will stick it out and not want to quit. He has a bad habit of not sticking to things.

7.  Leah's soccer season for Fall, is almost over. Her last game was schedule for last weekend but it was cancelled due to rain. Her game is now reschedule for this weekend. She's had a great season but I'm ready to be done with it. It's hard, because I have to drive the kids to all of their games and practices.

8. Leroy is finally done teaching at NWACC but he will be teaching again in January, March, and June. If you have never thought of teaching at the college before it's a great way to earn a lot of extra money. I'm thinking about taking the kids for four weeks on a big road trip because Leroy will not be home in the month of June. We might as well go somewhere fun. My mom wants us to go to Yellowstone and Idaho to visit my grandparents but Leroy wants to come join us at Yellowstone but I'm not sure how that would work out. I really wanted to visit my sister in Maryland. The two places are in completely opposite directions. So, we will have to sit down and figure out something soon.

9.  I'm all signed up for my first real 5k, which is going to be the Halloween 5k. I'm so out of shape. I took off last week from working out and I'm paying for it. I'm so tired from the baby not sleeping well, it's been hard to have the motivation to work out. I'm hoping to finish the course in under 35 minute but we will see.

10. Everything is ready for Halloween but I need to start working on Logan's class party. I have to make a bean bag toss game plus I'm in charge of Carmel apple activity. Nothing to crazy but I need to sit down and start working on it.

100%

I know, I said that I was completely done but I'm now official done with all of the Halloween costumes. I decided to go ahead and make a mermaid wand to go with Leah's costume. I found this really neat idea on Pinterest but my wand didn't look anything like it. I hate when you find something and instructions are not too clear. Anyway, it turn out cute and Leah loves it.

Plus, we managed to hit up a couple of garage sales and found some awesome costume jewelry to go with her outfit!

Halloween Costumes!

The fun thing about having two girls, somewhat matching costumes. Not an easy thing to do, when you're talking about 5 1/2 year ago gap but I figured out a way to make it work. My sewing partner, gave me her unfinished mermaid pattern from last year. She started to cut out some of the pattern pieces but never made any further then that. She passed it off to me. The pattern wasn't easy to figure or follow but she came over and we made it work. I decided to go back and take off the tail of Leah's costume because it was fraying too much and I was worried it would come off completely plus the mermaid costume was a little bit too long. So, this afternoon...I managed to take off the old tail and replaced it with a stronger and better tail. She can walk around in it without tripping over it. I just finished the crown plus the matching seashell pendant.

Baby Leilani costume is 100% my creation...no pattern...just me! I really love the way it turned out. The sea shell top is super cute. I'm going to get the kids pictures done together! I'm still blown away, how well they turned out!

The boys are going as Army men and I just bought them off Amazon. It's more fun to sew for little girls than boys.

Pumpkin Blocks

My hubby is gone in the evenings, I'm stuck at home with the kids. What to do, it's getting darker outside earlier and I decided it would be fun to work on some crafts with the kids. I haven't done anything like this in a very long time. The kids loved it. I even had to get out my jig saw and cut up some wood to make the pumpkins. The kids did a great job. The painting was a blast but the clean up is a real pain in the butt. Leah even made her a pumpkin for her teacher at school. She loves Mrs. E. She's always talking about how she has the best teacher ever. Melts my heart...anyways, it felt like a blast from the past. I feel bad that I haven't really done much with my kids lately with the new baby and all. I'm going to work on doing more crafts and science projects with the kids. Leroy still has about one and half weeks of teaching and he will be gone for two full weeks. Plus, the kids never go to bed early. So, I will be on top of things and hopefully it will make for some fun memories with the kids.

Milestones

Baby Leilani- 3 months old
She discovered her toes, while I was changing her diaper tonight. I couldn't believe my eyes. She had grabbed both of feet by her toes. Seriously, blew me away. I knew it would be soon but not that soon. Yippee!!!!!

Plus, she finally figured out how to roll on her side. I'm thinking it will only be a short matter of time before she finally figures out how to completely roll over all the way.

Two milestones in one day!

Plus, funny story...Logan wanted to give Leilani ask goodnight on her lips. He asked me if that would be okay and I told him "no"! Leilani doesn't want you to kiss her one the lips. Anyway, Logan tried to give her a kiss on the lips and she would turn her face away from him every single time. It was so funny, I told Logan that she didn't want a kiss on the lips. Logan your little sister doesn't want to be kiss by you on the lips. Gross!!!!! Oh well, it will make for a funny story in the future.

Ten on Tuesday

1. I can't believe, it's already October, I feel like the next couple of months it's going to be crazy with all the holidays coming up. I'm not even ready, for anything. Ok, that's not completely true. I decided to go ahead and ordered their costumes off Amazon. They will be little army men with real dog tags. Leah will be a mermaid and I still don't have a costume for the baby, does anyone have one that I could borrow?

2.  Baby Leilani is already three months old, this is her new favorite thing to play in. She's not to happy about being on her back all the time. She's ready to be up and seeing the whole wide world. She's growing up way too fast!

3.  Leroy is still teaching a computer class at NWACC. It's four nights a week. It's a big sacrifices but we will all be stronger in the end. I'm not a fan of putting the kids to bed by myself but I can do it. Hopefully, without pulling out too much of hair...lol!

4. I finally decided to join pinterest. I'm already trying out another recipe. So far, everything has been good but I'm sure I will come across something that will turn out gross.

5.  Landon is taking tennis lessons. He is loving it. I think we have finally found something that he loves. The best part is the lessons are here in Bella Vista, less driving around for me. I just wish, we could find something for Logan. We're having a bad issue at the moment, the little guy is constantly comparing himself to his bigger brother. It's really important to make sure all the kids have their own special thing about themselves. It's been hard but we will work thru it.

6. Leah is playing soccer. She's awesome...she's always getting goals like 3 or 4 each game. She's getting really mouthy towards her couch. She needs an attitude adjustment. She thinks she's all that plus more. She's fearless on the soccer field.

7.  I'm still trying to lose weight, it's not coming off as fast as I would like it to. It's hard but I'm still plugging away with it. My little baby was worth it. I'm just trying to be patient with myself.

8. The kids were sad to hear about Grandma's Scheele dog passed away. Logan didn't know animals could get sick and died. It's a hard lesson to learn but we told the kids that Shatize is in heaven with Grandpa Scheele and Uncle Lawrence. Way too many deaths, in less than a year. I hope nothing else will happened in a very long time.

9. My parents are done with their mission to South Africa. They are currently touring Kenya and will be back home in a couple of days. We all miss them and we can't wait to be reunited as a family.

10. This weekend, it's General Conference plus sports camp plus Leah has a soccer game. It's going to be a super crazy weekend but it will be good to take a break from the world and listen to the words from the prophet. Oh, were is all the time going!

meals

My best friend Veronica had her baby a couple of days ago. She just called me to tell me that she's so upset. She was told that her church would be bringing over meals. Guess what, not a single phone call or a meal has been brought over. She feels like the biggest loser. She told her mom that she wouldn't have to worry about cooking dinner because it supposedly lined up. She feels so unloved by people she thought cared about her. So, her mom is now cooking dinner and plans on making a couple of freezer meals before she leaves on Tuesday to go back to California. She's also planning on buying her a batch of freezer meals from Walmart. I told her that I would bring her a meal when her mom leaves town. Anyways, what a crappy thing to do to someone that just had a c-section and a new baby. I hope, people in the future think a little bit less about themselves and more about others. Argh!!!!

Just keeping it REAL!

Keeping it real, it's hard work but I'm not going to give up until I lose the last 15 pounds. I started off with over 20 pounds to lose and I'm already down 5 pounds in less than four weeks. Sadly, I gained my weight all over my body. My biggest areas to gain weight was my abs, hips, and my love handles.

I'm working, I couldn't do it without my support of my family and friends. I'm walking two days a week. I'm running two times a week with the help of my friend Eunice, who is the stroller pusher! I'm trying to squeeze in a couple of Turbo Fire workouts. Running is great but I have a tendency to get to condition to it to fast. I have to keep things constantly changing to force my body to lose the weight.

The pictures do not lie...My tummy is hanging out. Gross, hopefully, it will go away with time. My core is already feeling stronger with each workout! The kids are all over the place but I don't care, I just tune them out. Once, the baby is up from her nap. The kids are in charge of baby! It all works out in the end.

Meal Plan:

High protein and Low carb diet

Breakfast: Oatmeal or Egg with Turkey Bacon on Bread round
Post Workout: Nectar protein shake
Lunch: Tuna Fish sandwich with Greek Yogurt plus bread round
Afternoon snack: Pure Protein bar or rice cakes
Dinner: One cup of veggies plus 4-6 oz of meat!

I try really hard not to eat after 7:00pm
I try to drink 8-16 oz of water

It's always important to remember to never compare yourself. No two bodies are the same.

Just do your BEST!

10 on Tuesday

1.  My grandma is going to knit a Christmas stocking for Leilani which I couldn't be more than happy about! One less thing to worry about, I'm slowly starting to work on Christmas.

2.  Logan will be baptized at Christmas, just like his older brother Landon. Logan requested to wait until all of the family could come to his baptism. I don't blame him, it wouldn't be as special without all the family being there for him.

3.  Starting today, I will be watching my neighbors kids from Tue-Friday after school. She has agreed to watch my kids in return for three of those days. So, I wouldn't have to drag the boys to Leah's soccer games and I wouldn't have to drag Logan and Leah to Landon's tennis lessons.

4. Landon will be starting tennis lesson this afternoon. Logan said he wanted to take lessons but he changed his mind. He prefers to be home. The little guy is a home-body! He just likes to run around outside with the neighbor kids and ride his bike around the neighborhood.

5. I'm a little bit worried, that I will forget to get Devin off the special needs bus. I have to get the kids off two separate buses at two separate times. Confusing, I'm really hoping the special needs bus will drop him off in front of my house but we will see what the driver does.

6. Facebook has been crazy lately, you would be shocked if I wrote down all the strange messages I have received the past couple of days: requests for my breast milk, a friend told me that she's being living the gay lifestyle, a friend is separated from her hubby, and so many more things. Wow, I don't know what's going on in the world but it's coming right at me. I'm not sure why everything wants to tell me all about their life problems but it's starting to get a little bit to me. I'm just going to remind myself it's their life not mine. It's easy to get sucked into other peoples drama.

7. My neighbors son will be starting cub scouts tonight, I'm hoping it will work out. Our troop is so unorganized. They just called in new leaders, again. I don't want my neighbor to be like this troop is completely disorganized and not want her son to come again. Praying hard the cub scouts leaders wouldn't let me down.

8.  My best friend is having her baby on Thursday morning, I can't wait to meet him!

9. The baby weight is slowly coming off. I'm working my butt off and I'm on week 4! I'm running three days a week and lifting weights for the other three! I still have 18 pounds to go. I want all the extra pounds to be gone before Christmas break.

10.  Leroy is traveling for work this week. He's currently in Colorado setting up the new data center in Colorado Springs. He should be home by the end of the week.

I'm a helper but I have my limits!

A nice sister from church email me to see if I would donate any of my breast milk which is a little bit on the weird side if you ask me. I haven't even pumped one time with this baby, with Landon I literally had a full freezer of breast milk. So, should I whip out my pump and give her some of my milk or just tell her no! The whole situation is so awkward.

Don't Mess With My Daughter!

Tonight at soccer, Leah little friend told her that she's a loser because she didn't get the ball. Leah look right into her eyes and said "I'm not a LOSER! I made one or two goals already!" I'm proud of my daughter. If that had happened to me, I probably would of been devastated but not my daughter. She knows who she is and doesn't let other people dictate how she feels about herself. She knows that she's AWESOME and wouldn't be brought down by other people's judgements.

Go Leah!

On a side note, she made two soccer goals!

End of the Summer

Labor Day: Boating, Kayaking, Tree Swing, Ping Pong, and Yummy Food!

Camp Peterson aka the bishop's home! Just encased you were a little bit confused. No we didn't rent the canoe. Anyways, we invited our neighbors to come join us at the Bishop's house. I know, this is a little bit of a no-no thing to do but I knew they wouldn't mind. Sure enough, Jocelyn didn't mind at all. We literally spent all afternoon at the lake. We didn't plan on staying all day long but it just happened. The kids had so much fun boating and swimming in the lake. The girls are so cute! My neighbor was really surprised how many people her kids knew from school at the party. She decided that she wants to try out cub scouts for her son. I'm still trying to work on it. Too bad, every single person I tried to get in contact with about scouts, couldn't answer any of my questions. It's not a simple situation being that her son has special needs but I wouldn't hate to surprise them. He does really well but he does need some help with some social situation.

I still look really chubby, I really don't like the way I look at the moment. I'm not going to cry about it. I'm working at it. I did managed to lose another pound. I'm now down a total of four pounds...to bad I still have another 19 pounds to go!

Leroy thought the water was freezing cold, it wasn't cold at all. He such a cry baby...anyways he spent most of his time playing ping pong with the boys. He also spent some time with the kids taking them for a ride in the canoe.

Logan spent the majority of his time kayaking and rope swing. We're thinking about getting the boys their own kayaks. We talked about getting them some last year but it didn't happened. So, we 're leaning towards getting them their kayaks. We will see, how that will pan out.

Leah attempted to kayak by herself but she managed to freak out. So, she's enjoying just being a passenger maybe next year she will be comfortable going by herself. She was happy to be her best friend Kailyn. The girls spent the whole day in the water...most of it just swimming around. Leah kept on splashing everyone...I wasn't too happy about that part but overall a successful day.

The baby did awesome, she was little hot but she's used to it. She's a carseat baby, she's always on the go! She just slept in her carseat and the times she was up. She just sat around happy as a clam. She's the most prefect baby. She just super happy and easy but again she's number 4 so it's expected!

Bella Vista 5k

A family tradition, we just added a new member to our family and it was great way to kick off Labor Day weekend. Hurricane Issac decided to blow it's way into our area which meant lots of rain but it turned out to be more like misty rain. It rained all day long on Friday and all night long. When we got up this morning to get ready to go to the 5k event. I wasn't sure if it would happened due to the weather. It was cloudy, blowing hard wind, plus it was raining like crazy but sure enough right before the race was about to begin the weather decided to clear up. Thank goodness, miracles still do happened!

I'm almost 11 weeks postpartum, I finally decided to start working out again about two weeks ago. All three of my older kids started school and it was the perfect time to get my butt into gear! I spent the first week walking around Lake Bella Vista. I didn't want to injured myself, because I'm prone to hurting myself especially my knee and feet! So, this week..I decided to keep walking but I added one running day to my workout rotation. My walking buddy's are like special grandma's to my kids. Eunice and Jo were on stroller duty. They walked around the lake with the baby while I went for a run all by myself. I did three miles around the Lake Bella Vista in about 45 minutes. I felt really good after the run and decided that I would attempt running the Bella Vista ward 5k community event. This will be our 3rd year running this event as a family.

Logan expressed interested in running a 5k back in May when the kids ran in the Bentonville Gold Rush 1k/5k race. Logan really wanted to run a 5k but I wasn't really sure if he was being serious or not! You know how wishy-washy he can be about things. I decided the Bella Vista 5k would be the perfect time for him to see if he likes running or not because it's FREE! Well, it wasn't the greatest experience for him. He didn't not train for this event. My friend Regina caught up to him at the race, she stayed with him for the last mile which I really appreciated. She was worried about him, running on the main hwy back to the finish line. He was running all by himself. I thought, I would run next to him but he was too fast for me. Logan kept complaining to her about how it felt like the race was a 100 miles long. He couldn't of been happier to get it over with. I'm not sure if he will run another 5k but I'm glad he gave it a try. Plus, the biggest reason so he could earn two tickets for screen time.

Landon is a natural when it cames to running. He did a good job as well. His finish time was 29 minutes, he ended up with a side cramp which made it hard for him to finish the race. His last race back in May he came in under 26 minutes. He was a little bit bummed about his 5k time but it's a super hilly course. I'm so proud of Logan and Landon!

Here comes, the poor me story about me just having a new baby and running my first 5k since having baby Leilani! Originally, I thought that I would run the race and push the baby in my jogging stroller but the weather was super crappy outside. At the last minute, I had to find someone to watch Leah and Leilani. Sure enough, I found someones husband to watch my girls. The baby just felled asleep and I told Leah to sit next to her and watch her for me. Soon after the race started, Leroy was able to make it to the race after all and he took over watching the girls. I was so worried during the race that the baby would wake up and be a nightmare but it worked out. She didn't wake up until the end of the event. It all worked out perfectly. The course was hard, super hilly. I couldn't physically run up the hills. I'm way too weak. So, instead of giving up...I suck it up and decided to walk all of the hills. I thought for sure I would be the very last person to finish the race but I wasn't. I could of other people finished after me. I did beat my time which I set out for was to finish in under 45 minute. I came in around 41 minutes. This was probably my worst running time every but you know what I'm still proud of myself. I think most people wouldn't even try to run it but I did it! It's not about the time you get but crossing the finish line. It feels good just to do it whether your the first person or the last person to cross the finish line. I'm hoping to start running in more races, hopefully by November I will be running a half marathon.

If running the 5k wasn't bad enough. Leah wanted to run in the 1k for the little kids. She wanted to run with her. It wasn't easy, my legs felt like lead but I did it. We finished together at the finish line, well she came in before me. I'm so proud of her.

End of Summer

It's really hard to blog with a new baby. Every single time, I try to sit down and write up a post. The baby decides to wake up. Do you know how hard it is to type with only one hand. The slideshow is a collection of photos from the last three weeks of summer before school started. I'm pretty sure, I selected random photos due to being lazy plus super busy with baby.

The last couple of weeks, leading up to the kids attending school and summer vacation ended.

*Trip to Nauvoo
*Digging for Geodes...plus the kids made $20 selling geodes!
*Bowling Party for two boys...Landon and Logan
*Open House...the kids meet their teachers
*Lots of pictures of the new baby...isn't she cute?

Back To School

The night before school starts, is a super exciting time for the kids. The kids have already met their teachers at Open House and dropped off their school supplies. All three of my big kids will be attending school at Cooper! I will have a 4th grader, 2nd grader, and a Kindergartner. I'm so excited for all three of them. It's been the craziest summer ever. When I think back about are summer together, it's been nothing but an adventure! Let's see, the kids had a longest summer vacation ever due to having only one snow day. Three full months off from school, I had a baby, Leroy's dad sadly passed away, extended family visiting, end of the summer vacation trip to Nauvoo, and crazy extreme super hot drought weather. I can't wait to be able to finally rest up from having a new baby. I'm pretty sure most new mom's don't even attempt to do half the stuff I did with the kids this summer with a brand new baby. I most of been a little bit on the crazy side but it's okay. It's been a really good summer for the most part. It's been great to see how the kids have taken to their new little sister. It's been great to have them all home and watch them love on her but now the weather is finally starting to cool off and I'm ready for them to be off for school. I'm thinking maybe an all day long movie marathon might be in order. I didn't do too much sitting around with the new baby.

The gang...Landon, Logan, and Leah!

Can you tell which one isn't excited about going back to school?

Leah is so excited...I'm excited for her! She already knows like five other students in her class alone plus a ton of other kids in Kindergarten. It's almost 9:00pm and the kids are still up. They can't seem to fall asleep, I'm hoping they wouldn't be too tired in the morning to get up for school. We put them to bed at 8:00pm but they are still up! Anyways, I will report back tomorrow, on how their first day back to school.

Random Ten

Logan is working hard on his Latch Hook rug. Landon and Logan both have their own sets and they are working hard on it. I decided that I was sick of them watching so much tv and playing so much video games. I decided to go by hobby lobby and pick up some latch hook rugs to help them keep themselves busy. The boys are loving it. I'm not feel'n so guilty anymore plus the kids are learning a new art!
Landon decided he wanted to take swim lesson as well. Logan wasn't interested, I decided it wasn't worth fighitng with him about it. Landon is learning how to swim all different strokes...like the crawl, back stroke, and plus more. Landon is the strongest swimmer in the group. I'm thinking that next summer he would be ready to join the swim team.
Ms. Leah is taking swim lessons this week at Metfield Pool. The little girl is almost an indepent swimmer. She can swim under the water and float on her back. She's making so much progress in less than a weeks time. I'm so proud of her!
Okay, not my greastest picture but Leilani's first trip to Tanyard Creek. She's only two weeks old but she did really well! The boys managed to catch two fishes and Leah managed to pee behind a tree not an easy thing for a girl to do. Staying home all day long with all four kids drives me crazy. So, off we went to play in the creek.
This time, I'm doing things a little bit different. I have been trying out using cloth diapers. If you would of ask me about this a couple of years ago I wouldn't have try it at all. I decided to go ahead and make two covers plus 12 fitted diapers. I'm using half disposables and half cloth diapers. I usually use cloth during the day and regular diapers at night time. The verdict...cloth diapers are so easy to use because I'm nursing her...I just take off the cloth diapers and put them in a special bag. I wash the diapers every two or three days. No big deal...it's so easy. I'm saving a ton of money. I'm still using both because I don't want to mess with cloth at night. It's hard to see in the dark. So, I'm going to make the next size in diapers and will probably keep it up for the next couple of months. Once, she starts on solids...I might change my mind and go back to disposable diapers.
Field trip to Har-Ber Village, located in Grove OK...it's a museum with a ton of old log cabins filled with antiques.
Leilani's big day to be blessed at church!
Leilani's blessing dress was made by my good sewing friend...Ms. Eunice! I felt really bad about not helping with the dress but I'm so tired at the moment. I decided to let her make the dress and ditch the guilt. I'm tired which isn't a good combination when trying to sew. The dress turned out sooooo good. I feel so blessed to have such amazing friends to help me out with the new baby.

Grandma Scheele and Baby Leilani...first time meeting each other!

This is what the boys do to entertain themselves while I'm busy with the baby...building towers with plastic cups and making club houses with the couches...lol!
