Art Camp

Logan attended Art Camp at the Wishing Springs Art Gallery in Bella Vista. The camp lasted all week long and the theme was "Art from Around The World"! On Friday, it was the last day of camp plus it was the night of the Art Show. Logan had all of his art work on display plus they served punch and cookies. Logan willn't admit it but he had a great time and wants to go back again for next year. Logan even tie-dye the shirt he is wearing in the first picture. He also created a face mask, dye wool, and some primitive art. It's so much fun to watch him grow and develop his talents. Thanks, for checking out this post and leave a comment about his art work....thanks!

It's fun to compare the girls, can you  see the differences? The girls are exactly day old in these photos? Do you see any similarities?

Coming Home

Nothing better than coming home a day earlier than planned from the hospital. Auntie Serena brought the kids down to visit with their brand new sibling....Ms. Leilani! I really think all of my kids look completely different from each other. I just pulled out Leah's baby pictures and they don't look like each other. They might have the same chin and nose but everything else is different. Anyways, Auntie had the kids make a bunch of Welcome Home signs to put up above her crib to make her feel at home. The kids loved it. We finally managed to make it out of the hospital after a couple of delays but I couldn't wait to leave. I wanted to be back home with my not-so little family. So, we finally made it back home. I couldn't be happier. I'm spending all of my time nursing the baby and just loving her to death. The kids are adjusting really well and they are such good little helpers.

Special Delivery

It all started on Sunday morning, my sister Amy called around 8:00am to see if I already had the baby. While talking to her on the phone. I felt a small gush of water. I started to feel a strong contraction almost immediately. As soon as I felt the gush of water, I gave Leroy this look. He almost knew immediately, that something was up. I told him that I thought for sure my water was leaking. We decided to take are time and get ready for the hospital. Leroy called his sister Serena to come over and watch the kids so we could head over to the hospital. Leroy took his time, he managed to get in a shower and pack his bag for the trip to the hospital. Well, it had been over two hours and decided we should start to head out the door but we had to stop by both of my neighbors houses to let them know that we were headed to the hospital to have the baby. I contractions were coming on about every 4-5 minutes but they were completely manageable nothing to painful. The van was on empty so we had to stop off and get gas. I really thought we had pently of time. By the time, we made it to the E.R. and started to fill out all of the paper work it was almost 11:00am. The nurse finally came down with the wheelchair and decided to take use directly to the delivery room when I told her that I was dilated to a 4cm on Thursday at my last doctor's appointment.

The nurse wanted to check and make sure that my water did break. Sure enough, the little test paper turned purple which meant my water did break. Yippee, I knew than that they wouldn't be sending me home. The contractions were coming but they really didn't hurt that much at all. As soon as she checked me, she had this look of panic on her face. I thought to myself...oh no...this can't be good. She told me that I was already dilated to 8cm. What...how did that happened. I seriously had no hard labor. I told her not to finish breaking my water or she might end up having to deliver my baby. It wasn't too much longer that the rest of my bag of water did break on hits own. The nurse was running around trying to get everything ready for the baby. It all was happening so fast.

My doctor was not on call, but he told me at my last appointment that he would be around and he gave me a card to give the nurse to call him. He would come in and deliver my baby. Well, it turns out he was on his way back from Tulsa from his son's baseball game. No way, he was going to make it. I had to use the on-call Dr which was okay...she didn't show her face until the very last second to catch the baby...lol.

The nurse told me that the cut off to receive any type of drug relief is before 8cm and if I wanted some I had to make a decision right there. I decided that so far it had been so easy that I would just go without it. I just told myself that I just need to trust my body and I could do it.

So, from check in time at 11:00am to 12:00pm...I labored in bed. I started to feel a lot of pressure. The nurse checked me and she couldn't feel my cervix. I was complete at a 10 cm and I could start pushing whenever I wanted to. I had two more contractions and decided to just suck it up and start pushing. It really wasn't too bad. The nurse kept telling that she could see the baby's head and she had hair. I didn't believe her at all. I kept telling her between pushes that she was lying to me. She kept going on about how the baby had long hair. I still didn't believe her. All of my kids were bald...Leah didn't get any hair until she was a year old. Well, after I pushed out the head. Leroy was like she does have hair. So, here came the super hard part...pushing out the shoulders....ouch. I was screaming like crazy at this point. I felt like I was going to rip apart but she finally came out after 20 minutes of pushing. She was born at 12:19pm!!!!! I didn't even have to push the placenta, it just came out on it's on after a few minutes. I didn't tear or have any complications.

She enough, the baby was born with long dark brown hair. It was so crazy. I thought she look a lot like her big sister Leah. So, the crazy recap...no drugs, no hard labor, and the nurse kept saying how I had the prefect delivery. It wasn't long that I was up and walking around with no swelling or pain. It all happened so fast. Anyways, we're finally home. I left a day early. I couldn't rest with all the nurses coming and going. It's so good to be home with my kids. I still can't believe it but she's here and we couldn't be happier.

Just checked in at the Hospital!

Just born...look at her hair...crazy amounts!

Finishing Up Projects

Two big projects....one is completed and the other project should be here soon. Logan has been working hard on his quilt for the past couple of months. I never thought, we would finish it in time. I really wanted him to finish his quilt before the new baby comes. Last week, the boys work hard tying the quilt. All I had left to do was the binding but I couldn't make it work. Luckily, my sewing partner came back in town from vacation and was able to help us finish the quilt. She brought over her fancy sewing machine and we sewed a really fancy stitch on the quilt. So, the quilt is done....Yippee! Logan is so proud of it.

The second project is almost done as well. Baby "L" should be here soon. I'm 39 weeks pregnant. I somehow managed to lose two lbs this week. Strange but the nurse told me that it's normal to lose some weight at the end. The doctor checked me and I'm he told me that I was at a 3. He went ahead and stripped my membranes to try to help jump start things. It has never worked before but he decided to be extra rough...ouch...not fun:( Anyways, He told me that I'm now up to a 4cm dilated. So, the baby could come anytime. If I don't have the baby by Wed. We will schedule a date and time for my induction. I always seem to need to have my water broken so we will see if she will come on her own or if she will need to be evicted! Plus, the doctor told me that he doesn't think that I'm having a big baby. He said that I have a lot of room up top and he thinks that she will be a nice average size baby. I will keep you guys updated. I'm getting close to the end!

Ten on Sunday

1.  Another week, has gone by fast. I'm almost 39 weeks and no baby in sight of coming anytime soon. I did meet with my doctor's back up doctor and I wasn't too impressed with him. I'm really hoping that I wouldn't go into labor until my regular doctor gets back from Hawaii. I normally don't go into labor until week 40, so I should be fine. My next appointment is on Thursday, June 14th. I haven't made any real progress in the past two weeks. I'm starting to think that maybe I'm  not having such a big baby like I did last time I was pregnant with Leah. At this point with Leah, I was already at a 3/4 cm dilated and right now I'm still at 1.5 cm dilated. I'm feel'n really good at the moment. I'm trying to spend as much time as possible at the pool. It's so nice to be in the water while pregnant. It takes a ton of pressure off my back. I have everything that I need for the baby. I just have to say that 85% of the stuff that I have for the baby has come from garage sales. My friend "V" came across an awesome garage on Thursday and I managed to pick up gowns for 50 cents each plus a bunch of other things that look awesome. She had a infant carseat head support thingy. She told that she paid $20 for it and I picked it up for only $1. Still looks brand new!!!! Yippee!!!!!! Gotta love having good friends that are looking out for good deals for me. I'm 100% set for the new baby. Leroy's man cave downstairs is filling up fast with the baby stuff.

2.  Tie-Dye fun, this made a fun activity to kick off the week. I picked up the kit at the Walmart Associate store. The kids have been wanting to do for a long time so it felt good to have one more thing that I could cross off the list.

3.  Another big project, we have been working on for the past couple of months is Logan's quilt. I managed to borrow a quilting frame and the boys help me get it up on the frame. After we had it set up in the living room, I found the cat sleeping on top of the quilt. I'm still surprised that the quilt didn't come crashing down. I keep finding her in all the wrong places trying to nap. First, I found her earlier in the week sleeping in the baby's crib than I found her on top of the quilt sleeping. Ok, back to the quilt. I taught Logan how to tie the quilt but Landon didn't want to have anything to do with the quilt. He finally decided on Friday that he would help out with the quilt. Once he got started, he didn't want to stop. He managed to tie the last tie on the quilt. Logan wasn't too happy about it but we did finally get it done. The only bad thing is I have to bind off the quilt. I thought I could do it on my own but I keep messing it up. My sewing partner is out of town for vacation for the next couple of weeks. I"m so bummed, I really wanted to finish the quilt before the baby came but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

4. On Saturday, I took the kids to Lowe's for the building project. A lady at the project told my friend "V" about the fishing derby. Logan's really into fishing at the moment. So, I left Leah at Lowe's with my friend and went back home with Logan so he could go fishing at the derby with Leroy and Landon. Leroy asked why I left Leah alone at Lowes? Really, you really thought I would leave our daughter alone at Lowes. I left her with Veronica because she didn't want to go fishing with the boys. Duhhhh!!!!!!! Anyways, the boys managed to catch six big catfish. The limit was three catfish per child. After the boys were done fishing. A mom came up to Leroy and asked if he could help her daughter catch two more fish. She was able to get one fish but really wanted to get the other two fish. Leroy felt really bad for the girl and they stayed for another hour to help her fish. It turns out she was using the wrong type of bait and that's way she was having a hard time catching any fish. I'm really proud of my hubby because he could of said "no" and left but he did the right thing.

5.  Leah has managed to out grow all of her shoes. Last Sunday, she decided to wear her flip flops to church because she didn't have anything to wear to church. As soon as we pulled up to church, her one flip flop broke. She had to spend the rest of the day at church with no shoes. Ya, that looked really good. Anyways, I went back to Walmart yesterday to pick up a few new pairs of shoes. Holy Cow, the prices for little girls shoes are outrageous. $12 for a cheap pair of walmart shoes. I just picked up another pair of cheap flip flops and I told her that we will try to hit up Playless later in the week. I usually can find some pretty good deals there but talk about disappointing. She's growing so fast at the moment. I don't want to spend a ton of money on shoes when she's out growing everything.

6. Landon is going thru a new phase. My little man is going to be turning 10, let me tell you...it's awful. He cries over every little thing. He keeps bursting into tears. I'm about to pull my hair with him. He cries more than his little sister.

7.  On Tuesday, I found out that the Roger's Bowling Alley has $1 special. Bowling games are only $1, shoe rental is $1, plus snack bar items are only $1. The kids are really excited about going. I love finding cheap activities for the kids.

8.  The kids will be attending VBS is week, at my neighbor's church. His dad is the pastor at the church and the kids have gone for the past two years. The best part is they serve the kids dinner each night. No cooking for me, yippee!!!

9.  I did managed to join up with my running group of Saturday and I walked two miles. It did nothing but make my fingers swell up. I think this baby is planning on staying put.

10.  Hopefully, we will have less crying this week and more fun. It seems like every time we try to go somewhere, at least one of my kids will throw a fit about it. I can't please everyone and life isn't fair. Plus, sitting around the house all day with the kids makes me go batty. So, say a prayer for me...lol
