Over The Rainbow

Ever want to make a cake without using eggs or oil? Well, I discovered today that you can use one can of sprite instead of eggs or oil. It's sooooo simple and easy! My friend discovered this great idea from this blog called Omnomicon, click here! Literally, all you do is dump the cake mix into a bowl and pour one bottle of sprite. Just mix and the batter will be slightly lumpy.

We divided up the batter into six bowls. We decided to go with every color in the rainbow! Leah kept wanting to take licks of the cake batter. It wasn't an easy thing to keep her out of the batter. See, how she is holding the towel over her face. She's trying to hide the fact that its cover in blue batter.
Now, the fun part. You scoop basically one cup of batter into the cake pans. One color on top of another color. Start in the correct color order and do the opposite in the second pan. Check the Omnomicon blog for directions.

Due to the pop in the cake batter, you need to make sure to bake the cakes for another ten minutes.

Almost the final product. This is how the cake looks right out of the oven. Fun!!!!!
I will post a picture of the final product tomorrow.

Wow, that omnomicon blog is quite a read, to say the least. I remember when rainbows were innocent and everyone wanted Mork-from-Ork suspenders.

I wasn't offended - all of the references to occasions on which this cake would be fitting made me laugh. ;)
