LITTLE HOUSE IN THE BIG WOODS BY LAURA INGALLS WILDER
This past spring we read "Farmer Boy" by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The boys loved reading all about Almanzo and his family growing up on a farm. We use to sit around the kitchen table drink chocolate milk while I read the book out loud. I decided it was time for another read aloud and decided to go with Little House book series. I was just checking out possible field trip ideas and discovered we can drive to Mansfield, Mo and check out Laura Ingalls Rocky Ridge Farm which was the home of Laura, Almanzo, and Rose. Its only a three hour drive from our home. So, the plan is to try to finish all the books in the series and take a drive up to their home.
