I'm on a roll...

I just finished making my own home made laundry detergent! I still can't believe it! I never thought in a million years I would make my own laundry detergent. Several years ago, I had a good friend a church explained to me how she made her own laundry soap. I thought she was completely crazy to make her own! I have been doing a lot of research on the subject and decided to stop using all of those chemicals that are found in soap and laundry detergent!

As some of you know my daughter has severe case of Eczema. She has at time scratch her whole body raw. I'm talking about red, raw skin, and oozing out with blood. At times she's been completely covered with itchy rashes. The doctor told me a couple of weeks to go to make sure not to use any products on her that contain perfumes, harsh chemicals, or dyes! This is what lead me down the path to make my own soaps. The laundry detergent at the store for sensitive skin is soooooo expensive. So, that's how I came around making my own laundry soap.

I found this really great website called the family homestead! She has a great step by step with pictures on how to make the laundry soap. It took me less than 30 minutes from start up to clean up!

I ended up having a really hard time finding the Washing Soda. I discovered that Allen's carries it but not walmart!

So, I have to wait 24 hours before I will be able to use my laundry detergent!

As soon as I can use my own detergent, I will post a review.
I pray and hope it works!

oh I am SO impressed! I am a little picky about the soaps/detergents I use...but I think it would be smart to have all the ingredients, plus a copy of the printed off directions in my 1 year supply of food storage, so I could make it if I ever needed to. I can't believe how inexpensive it is!
Also, your soap is cool too. I bet your kids will love having fun shaped soaps in the tub!
